My great grandfather Paul Richard Junghans passed away on November 13, 1944 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Here is a copy of his death certificate.
Below is a copy of his obituary.
By 1944, Paul was the third of the Junghans (Yunghans) brothers to pass away. Eldest brother Emil Yunghans died February 19, 1929 in Vincennes, Indiana and Otto Junghans passed away June 16, 1931 in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Kenneth Junghans and Evelyn (Gaulke) wedding
Here is a wedding photo of Wilhelmina (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' grandson, Kenneth and his bride, Evelyn (Gaulke). I'm not sure of the month and day but believe the year was 1932.
Kenneth was the son of Della (Phillips) and William Paul Junghans.

Marian Junghans - about 1935
Here is a photo of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' granddaughter, Marian Junghans, taken around 1935. Marian would have been around 6 years old when this photo was taken.
Marian was born prematurely to Olive (Fields) and Clarence Phillips due to complications from appendicitis that resulted in her mother's death. Marian was then adopted by her aunt and uncle, Della (Phillips) and William Paul Junghans.

Marian and Kenneth Junghans - 1931
Here is a photo taken around 1931 of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' grandchildren, Marian and her brother Kenneth.
Marian and Ken were the youngest and eldest children of Della (Phillips) and William Junghans.
Marian would have been about 2 and Kenneth about 20 years old.
I'm not sure how old the car was but would be nice to have it today.

William Junghans and family - 1929
Here is a photo taken in 1929 of the family of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' eldest son, William.
From left to right, Kenneth, William, wife Della, Marion (being held by Della) and Harlow.
I'm not sure who is hidden between Marion and Harlow (wearing the hat) but it may be my great grandfather, Paul Richard Junghans.
On the far left you can see someone's left arm and leg which is probably William and Della's youngest son, William Jr.

William Junghans and family - 1939
Here is a photo taken about 1939 of the family of the eldest son of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans.
(From left to right)
Back row: Harlow, Della, William and Ken Junghans
Front row: Marian Junghans
I had originally labeled this photo with "Bill Jr", but from looking at the photo, it looks like William (or Bill Sr) wearing the hat, but difficult to tell.

Olga (Appleby) and William Junghans Jr - family wedding photo
Here is a photo of Wilhelmina (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' eldest son, William and wife Della (Phillips) and family.
This is apparently a photo taken for the wedding of William and Della's son, William Jr to Olga Appleby who were married on June 27, 1937.
In the back row on the right, "Grandma Junghans" is actually Della and "Grandpa Junghans" is William.
I also see in the back row (4th from the left) is a gentleman standing, (facing away from the camera to his left), which may be my great grandfather, Paul Richard Junghans. I'm not sure why his name was omitted from the photo description, but it would seem unusual for him to not have been a part of the photo and at the wedding of his grandson, since he was still living at the time.

1920 US Census - Carl Junghans
Here is the 1920 US Census for Carl Junghans the second son born to my great grandparents, Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans.
Carl, wife Selma and their son Lloyd were living in Koshkonong, Wisconsin, approximately 14 miles southwest of Fort Atkinson.
Carl was employed as a machinist, though I can't decipher the name of the company.

Otto Junghans, Paul Richard Junghans, Carl F Yunghans
This is the only photo I've seen of three of the four Junghans (Yunghans) brothers together.
From left to right: Otto Junghans, my great grandfather, Paul Richard Junghans and Carl F Yunghans.
Eldest brother Emil Yunghans (who was not included in the photo) died February 19, 1929 in Vincennes, Indiana and Otto Junghans died June 16, 1931 in Mequon, Wisconsin.
I'm not sure where the photo (Vincennes, Indiana or in Wisconsin) was taken but based upon the deaths of Emil and Otto I am guessing the photo was taken sometime between February 1929 and June 1931.

Paul Junghans Jr - warranty deed
Here is a deed for property owned by Paul Richard and Wilhelminia Junghans' son, Paul Jr.
This plot of land in Sawyer County, Wisconsin was purchased by Paul Jr in July 1927. I'm not sure why the property was transferred to Paul Jr, possibly a place to vacation or an investment.
Sawyer County is located approximately 5 hours north of where Paul Jr was living in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
This particular property is also located about an hour east of where my grandparents, Louise (Daniels) and Walter Junghans would eventually buy a house on Long Lake, Wisconsin in the 1960's.

1930 US Census - Paul Richard Junghans
Here is the 1930 US Census for my great grandfather, Paul Richard Junghans. Paul was living at the home of his son, Paul Jr and wife Rosina and their son Richard in Jefferson County near Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Also living in the household was Paul Richard Junghans' sister-in-law, Mary Schmidt.
Like so many census records with errors, this one indicates Paul Richard Junghans immigrated to the United States in 1868. As I pointed out in earlier posts, he immigrated sometime in 1886.

Paul Junghans Jr - marriage
Paul and Wilhelminia Junghans' 4th son, Paul Jr married Rosina Victoria Billing on February 12, 1918.
I do not have a copy of the wedding certificate or a photo of the couple, but here is a photo of Rosina I am guessing was taken close to that time.
Here is another photo of "Aunt Vic" taken several years later, I am guessing was taken in the early 1950's.

Here is the death certificate for my great grandmother, Wilhelminia (Schmidt) Junghans, the wife of Paul Richard. Minnie was only 55 when she passed away in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
Here is an obituary that appeared in the Fort Atkinson paper. The obituary indicated she married Paul Junghans in 1889; they were actually married December 11, 1886.

Frieden's Church - Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin
Here is a photo taken in August 2007 of the Friedens Church where the Junghans family attended in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
This particular structure was built in 1923. I believe the original church was destroyed by fire.
The church eventually became the Friedens Church of Christ.

Carl F Yunghans and Hannah Kerlifofaky - marriage
The second son of Carl Heinrich Junghans and Christliebe Kuehn, Carl F Yunghans was married to Hannah Kerlifofaky on November 8, 1905 in Marion, Indiana, almost 4 hours northeast of where they lived in Vincennes, Indiana.
I believe this if the first document I've encountered that has connected the 4 Junghans/Yunghans brothers (Emil, Carl, Otto and Paul), based upon the father, Heinrich Junghans and mother, Christliebe Kuehn.
Probably due to the Junghans' brothers American pronunciation with a German accent of their parent's names or the government employee's misspellings have led to numerous variations.

Henry C Yunghans - marriage certificate
Now that I've finished entries for the eight sons of Emil and Julia Yunghans' World War I draft registrations, it's time to move onto another topic.
Here is the marriage certificate for Emil and Julia Yunghans' second son, Henry and his wife Anna Hanneman who married on June 18, 1903 in Vincennes, Indiana.
When I was in Vincennes, Indiana in 2007 trying to locate information on the brothers of my great grandfather Paul Richard Junghans, I stopped at the genealogical society and copied marriage records. I did not know at the time that the Yunghans records I copied were part of our family until a couple of years later when I had been provided the family tree of the older Junghans (Yunghans) brothers, Emil and Carl.
