1920 US Census - William Paul Junghans

William  was living with wife Della (Phillips) and their sons Kenneth, Harlow and William Jr.   They were living in Jefferson township, Jefferson county, Wisconsin.

Here is the 1920 US Census for Ernst Yunghans, the son of Julia (Kolb) and Emil Heinrich Yunghans and grandson of Christliebe (Kuehn) and Carl Heinrich Junghans.

Ernst was living in Indianapolis, Marion county, Indiana with wife Ruth (Gerstenberger) and their first two children, Ernst and Ruth.   Ernst was employed as a teacher.

Here is the 1920 US Census for Alvin Yunghans, the son of Julia (Kolb) and Emil Heinrich Yunghans and grandson of Christliebe (Kuehn) and Carl Heinrich Junghans.

Alvin was living in Vincennes, Knox county, Indiana with wife Clara (Kirsch).    Alvin was employed at his father's cigar factory, E.H. Yunghans.

Here is the 1920 US Census for Albert Yunghans.

Albert was living with wife Esther (Brackman) at 1012 Broadway, Vincennes, Knox county, state of Indiana.    Albert was employed as an inspector for bridge works.

Albert was the 8th child born to Julia (Kolb) and Emil Heinrich Yunghans and the grandson of Christliebe (Kuehn) and Carl Heinrich Junghans.

1920 US Census - Julius Yunghans

While searching for the 1940 US Census, I was able to track down a few previous census records I had been missing.     Below is the 1920 US Census for Julius Yunghans.

Julius (line 92, second family from the the bottom) was living with wife Minnie (Kirsch) and their two children, Marie and Arthur in the city of Vincennes, Knox county, Indiana.

Julius was employed as a cigar maker, most likely working for his father, Emil Yunghans at the Yunghans Cigar factory.    The occupation of daughter Marie is listed as "sales woman" at a five and dime store.

Julius was the eldest son of Julia (Kolb) and Emil Heinrich Junghans/Yunghans and the grandson of Christliebe (Kuehn) and Carl Heinrich Junghans.

1920 US Census - Carl Junghans

Here is the 1920 US Census for Carl Junghans the second son born to my great grandparents, Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans.

Carl, wife Selma and their son Lloyd were living in Koshkonong, Wisconsin, approximately 14 miles southwest of Fort Atkinson.
























Carl was employed as a machinist, though I can't decipher the name of the company.

1920 US Census - Otto Junghans Jr

Here is the 1920 US Census for the Otto Junghans Jr, the grandson of Carl Heinrich and Christliebe Junghans.

  

Otto, employed as a farmer, was living in Mequon with wife Ella and children Lydia, Gerhardt and Gilbert.

1920 US Census - Paul Richard Junghans

Here is the 1920 US Census for the youngest of the Junghans' brothers, Paul Richard (my great grandfather).    This is the first census for the family since moving from Neillsville to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Paul was living with wife Minnie, 5th (and last) born son Walter (my grandfather) and 4th born son Paul Jr and his first wife, Rosina on Roberts Street.

Paul Sr was working at a lumberyard and Paul Jr was employed as a mechanical draftsman.

1920 US Census - Otto Junghans

In 1920, Emil and Carl Yunghans' younger brother Otto Junghans was living in Mequon, Wisconsin with wife Hulda.

Otto and Hulda's daughter Martha was living next door with husband John Dvonik and their two children, Walter and Alice.

Otto continued his profession as a farmer.   John Dvonik was listed as a 'hired man' probably working on the farm of his father or his father-in-law.

1920 US Census - Emil Yunghans

In 1920, elder brother Emil Yunghans was living in Vincennes, Indiana, along with wife Julia and 3 of their 10 children, John Frederick, Frank and Hulda.

Emil and son Frank manufacturered cigars and  John was a policeman.

1920 US Census - Carl Yunghans

 In 1920, Carl Yunghans and wife Hannah were living in Vincennes, Indiana.    Of the four Junghans (Yunghans) brothers, only Carl refrained from having children.

Carl was employed as a carpenter.

 

Reminder for those that have been following along, Carl and older brother Emil had changed their name from Junghans to Yunghans after moving to the United States from Germany.

Their younger brothers Otto and Paul retained the Junghans spelling.
