1910 US Census - Ernst Yunghans

Here is the 1910 US Census for Ernst Yunghans, the nephew of my great grandfather, Paul Richard Junghans.

Ernst was the 4th child born to Julia (Kolb) and Emil Heinrich Yunghans (Yunghans).        Otto Junghans, Emil's brother was living only a few miles away.

Ernest was a boarder living at the home of H.F.R. Thieman and was employed as a teacher.

1910 US Federal Census - William Junghans

I believe I found the 1910 Census record for Paul Junghans' eldest son, William.

It appears William was living in Sumner, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Sumner is approximately 15 minutes southwest of Fort Atkinson, where the rest of the Junghans family would eventually be moving in 1914.



According to the census record, William was living and working on a farm.

I've not been able to locate a census record for William's younger brother Carl, so I do not know where he was living during the 1910 census.

This completes the 1910 US census records for the Junghans (Wisconsin) and Yunghans (Indiana and Ohio) families.

1910 US Federal Census - Otto Yunghans

In 1910, Emil Yunghans' third child, Otto was living with wife Clara and sons Paul, Wilfred and Norman on East 105th Street in Cleveland, Ohio.



Otto was the first of Emil and Julia Yunghans' children to leave Vincennes, Indiana. Also, unlike his older brothers, Julius and Henry, who followed their father into the cigar making business, Otto was a school teacher.

1910 US Federal Census - Henry Yunghans

In 1910, Emil Junghans' second eldest child, Henry was living with wife Anna and daughters Letha and Ermine in Vincennes, Indiana.



It looks like the Yunghans family were living on North 11th Street.

Like his older brother Julius, Henry was a cigar maker.

Continuing with the 1910 US Census, Emil Yunghans' eldest son, Julius was living with wife Minnie, daughter Marie and son Arthur at apparently the same location as they were living in 1900: on Broadway Street in Vincennes, Indiana.



Julius was a cigar maker; most likely at his father's factory.

1910 US Federal Census - Paul Junghans

In 1910, the youngest of the Junghans' brothers, Paul, lived with wife Wilhelminia, and sons Paul Jr and Walter (my grandfather) at their farm in Pine Valley, Wisconsin.

1910 US Federal Census - Otto Junghans

In 1910, the 2nd youngest Junghans brother, Otto, continued to live on the farm in Mequon, Wisconsin. Also residing at the farm were Otto's wife, Hulda, their children Otto Jr and Martha and Otto Jr's wife Ella.




The census record also indicates a niece by the name of Martha, which must be from Hulda's side of the family, unless the census taker made an error and that entry belongs to the household next to Otto and Hulda's.

1910 US Federal Census - Carl Yunghans

In 1910, Carl Junghans and wife Hannah were also living in Vincennes, Indiana. Carl and Hannah had married a years earlier, in 1905. I have yet to locate the 1900 US Census for Carl.



It is hard to read the year of immigration, but according to the 1920 Census (which I'll post later) he immigrated to the United States in 1882.

Of the 4 Junghans brothers, Carl did not have any children, and I'm not aware that he had been married previously, so that portion of the family tree ends with him.

1910 US Federal Census - Emil Junghans

The 1910 US Federal Census was the first that I've been able to locate the records for all 4 of the Junghans' brothers: Emil, Carl, Otto and Paul.

In 1910 Emil and wife Julia lived with 7 of their 10 surviving children: Alvin, Ernest, Elizabeth, Frederick, Albert, Frank and Hulda.



Emil Yunghans (Junghans) and family were living in Vincennes, Indiana during the 1910 Census.
