Walter Junghans - DeKalb, Illinois

Color photography eventually began to replace black and white after WW II.

Here is a photo of my grandfather, Walter Junghans in DeKalb, Illinois.   (I'm not sure of the horse's name).

This photo was taken June 1949.    As you can see, color photographs were a bit muted back then.

Louise Junghans birthday

Here is a photo of my grandmother, Louise (Daniels) Junghans with her in-laws.

From left to right:

Louise, Sydna (Wilson),  husband Paul Junghans, Carl Junghans and wife Selma (Frentzel).

This had to have been taken by my grandfather, Walter Junghans (youngest brother of Paul and Carl) on Louise's birthday*, April 19, though I'm not sure of the year, probably sometime in the late 1950's.

*The birthday cake and gift that Louise is opening was the giveaway.

Here is another photo of Lloyd Jack Junghans, son of Selma (Frentzel) and Carl Junghans.    This photo was taken several years earlier than the photos posted yesterday.

I assume this was taken sometime in the 1930's or very early 1940's.

Lloyd Jack Junghans

Here is a photo of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' grandson, Lloyd.

I'm not sure when this photo was taken as he doesn't quite look old enough to be a senior in high school, but it was probably taken sometime in the mid-1920's.

Lloyd was the only son of Selma (Frentzel) and Carl Junghans, (the second son born to Wilhelminia and Paul Junghans).

Harlow Junghans - military service

Here is a photo of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' grandchild, Harlow Junghans in his military uniform during WW II.

I'm not sure when this photo was taken (probably around 1942).    Harlow would have been in his mid-20's.

Harlow was the second child born to Della (Phillips) and William Junghans.

William Jr, Harlow and Marian Junghans

Here is a photo of Wilhelminia (Schmidt) and Paul Richard Junghans' grandchildren, from left to right, William Jr, Harlow and Marian.

It looks like Marian is about 3 or 4 years old, so I would estimate this photo as having been taken in 1932 or 1933.

William was the third son born to Della (Phillips) and William Junghans, Harlow was the second son and Marian was their adopted daughter.
